I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for Ice Cream
This past week was an Icecream frenzy for many of our classrooms. Miss Robbilynn and Miss Kim had a very cool week planned for our preschoolers at Simcoe. They got to paint ice cream cones, make cotton ball ice cream Sundays, make art using sprinkles and tissue paper popsicles. To get moving, they jumped and ran through cones, walked across the yard with ice on spoons, had an ice cream scavenger hunt, and ended the week by leaping over balls. They played with ice cream, Dippin dots, kinetic sand, made fizzy ice creams cones and played with more sprinkles for sensory time. The fun is endless when it comes to sprinkles and ice cream. At Dalhousie, Miss Ashley’s preschoolers started their week with puffy ice cream cone art and played ice cream bingo. They also got to make cotton ball icecreams, sprinkle art and tissue paper popsicles. These preschoolers, however, also got to paint with coloured ice cubes. That is a very creative way to paint! Besides craft, they had special activities to participate in, making slime and having an Ice Cream party with Miss Robbilynn. 🍦
In the school-age room, the ice cream fun didn’t stop there! They had a week of THINGS THAT MAKE YOU GO, BRRRR ❄. They explored the arctic world through multiple activities and videos, had fun with ice, learned about penguins, and travelled to the North Pole and immersed themselves into everything cold. They, of course, got to take part in the Icecream party with the preschoolers and Miss Robbilynn. How sweet!
Miss Josie’s toddlers were immersed in the world of the circus! They made handprint elephants, shredded paper lions, a paper plate clown, created their very own circus tent, and used puffy paint to make cotton candy art. 🎪🤡🤹♀️
All good things must ‘cone’ 🍦 to an end… but that’s okay because next week will be AN OUTDOOR ADVENTURE! Stay tuned! 😊
