Hello everyone!
This past week was a week full of rain, but our little buddies didn’t let that bring them down. They had so many fun activities and crafts to do and keep them busy. ☔
Our extended care kids looked on the bright side of the rain and had a week full of rainbows! They played with rainbow sensory bottles, made rainbow pictures, participated in a rainbow movement scavenger hunt, put coloured bottles in the rainbow order, and finished off the week by watching The Smurfs movie on Friday and a super fun dance party on Saturday. 🌈
Miss Ashley’s preschoolers went camping this past weekend with a ton of camping-themed activities and crafts. They got to paint rocks and then jump from rock to rock on their “hiking trip.” You can’t go camping without a tent, so our little buddies made some popsicle tents to take on their trip. They also made some suncatcher lanterns, a pair of camping binoculars, and a nature painting masterpiece. All the essentials! They also got to make shadow puppets, spend their entire day outside for an outside classroom day, go on a bear hunt, make s’mores, and so much more! 🏕
Miss Josie is keeping up with her beach theme for the toddlers at Dalhousie. This week they continued with their summertime fruit matching game. For craft, they made a q-tip dotted starfish, beach glass glueing, painted seashells, made paper plate beach balls, and decorated their very own beach umbrella. Wow! That’s some fun in the sun, for sure. 🐚
Our summer camp kids also had a great week. This week’s theme was LOOK WHAT WE CAN DO 🔍. Monday was fun with boxes. Our big buddies all brought in boxes and got to play around with them. There are so many things you can do with boxes. One classroom used them as forts and built a wall; the other was making gifts for their parents and friends. How sweet! Tuesday, they explored the world of legos and created some cool creations. Wednesday, they had a special guest: Miss Katie make some chalk creations to bring home. On Thursday, they held a talent show and showed off some of their unique acts. Soccer skills, singing and dancing all lit up the stage outside. We have some stars in the making! At the end of the week, they became a painter and had a virtual class Paint Party and got to create either a painting of watermelon or cactus. 🎨
Next week! Our summer camp kids are getting WILD ABOUT NATURE 🐛 , and our preschoolers are having a TEDDY BEAR PICNIC 🧸. This will be very interesting to read about for sure! Stay tuned!
