Summer has officially come to an end, but it went out with a bang! Our friends are excited to go back to school and probably already can’t wait for next summer vacation. It is nice that they will be able to be in person this year and see all their friends' faces!
Monday
Our preschoolers had a week all about sports. They started their week on the right foot and kicked the ball right into the net! They sang the song “Do You Like Playing Sports,” read the book We Love Soccer. For craft, they asked themselves the question “what is your favourite sport and then coloured in the sports equipment to their favourite sport. To get moving, they played a game of soccer.
Miss Josie’s toddlers continued their summer Under the Sea theme with a week of fishes for a small group but then went from sea to sky and learned about space for the craft. They coloured in solar systems and sang songs like Mrs. Bees ABC and Welcome to Outer Space.
At Simcoe, our infants had an exciting week too! They made a circle using different balls, coloured in balls for crafts and played with balls for gross motor. Miss Kim’s Preschoolers had a crazy sock day, and they made crazy socks for the craft.
Tuesday
HEY BATTER BATTER, SWING!
Play Ball!!
It was baseball day! The preschoolers sang Take Me Out to the Ballgame and read Daisy’s Sports Day. For craft, they designed their Jersey and then went outside and played baseball with gloves and a ball. How fun! Next door, our toddlers swam with the fishes and then got to colour the moon with sparkly markers. ✨ After singing “We are on the Moon, What do you see?” they concluded their exciting day!
Our Infants at Simcoe continued their ball week with painting balls for craft and then jumping like a ball for gross motor. They played with a squishy ball for sensory and then matched the balls by colour to practice their colour skills.
Miss Kim followed suit in the jersey day theme, and our little buddies got to design their jersey too!
Wednesday
Hat’s off to summer! It was hat day. Miss Ashley’s friends designed their hats, played basketball, and it was all about hats! Miss Kim’s friends also designed their hats. How cute!
The toddler’s decorated a spaceship for craft and sang “We’re in a Rocket Ship.” The toddlers at Simcoe had a winter-themed day and watched frosty the snowman, made footprint penguins, threw soft snowballs around, matched snowmen and then played with soft snowballs.
Our infants had a really interesting craft. They dipped a ball into the paint and then rolled it across the paper. After that, they pretended to roll like balls. Weeee! For sensory, they got to play with bubbles and then matched balls by their size.
Thursday
Our infants played pass, made a big ball for craft, bounced on a ball, and got to go outside and play ball on the field. They practiced their counting skills and counted the balls they had.
It was a crazy sock day for our Dalhousie preschoolers! They wore all sorts of colours, patterns, and even mismatched different pairs. They went outside and played water balloon toss to help cool down from the heat! Our toddler’s painted their UFOs and sang 5 Aliens in Outer Space.
Friday
Our preschoolers and school-age kids ended the summer in a great way! The preschoolers had a dance party which is always exciting, but they all got to have a Pizza Party, all thanks to Miss Tammy, Mr. Kyle and Mr. Max.
