Happy Monday!
We are halfway through August, and September is right around the corner! Our buddies still have so much summer ahead of them to have great activities and crafts! Let’s see what they did this week at our centres. ⤵
This week in extended care, our buddies focused on all thing’s animals! They started the week with animal sensory bags made with rice, had quite a few animal crafts to make and then ended the week with watching paw patrol.

Our toddlers at Simcoe were exploring the use of tools and being outside. What a great combination! They sang the Tools song, the Morning Song, Hammer Song, Mr. Sun Song, and The Wheels on the Bus for circle. These are all great ways to start the day and get the energy level ready to do some excellent activities. They had the chance to make some pretty cool crafts too! Colouring in screwdrivers, bingo dabbing tools on paper, painting tools using sponges, and gluing various paper tools to paper. To expel some energy, they headed outside and took part in some gross motor time. They ran outside in the sun, threw balls, jumped, climbed the climber, and rode on bicycles! How fun. Afterwards, they slowed down a bit and had sensory time. They hammered wood, played with tools in the sensory bin, played with tools in bubble water, sandbox, and the toolbox. To complete the awesome variety of games and activities for our little buddies, they got to play with tools, read books about them, and match them together for their cognition and memory skills. 🔨
Our toddlers at Dalhousie were taking a different theme this week. They went under the sea. Miss Josie and her toddlers made handprint fish, filled up their fishbowl at the aquarium craft, decorated the letter F for Fish 🐟, made a shark, and then built a dolphin.
For Summer Camp in the Preschool Room at Dalhousie, it was BUBBLES AND WATER FUN 💦! Our little buddies got to make a pipe cleaner bubble wand, colour bubble art, a painting using watercolours, bingo dabbers, and a salt bubble art piece. Their special activities were bubbles, bubbles, and more bubbles, playing with a bubble machine, looking at a water bead sensory bag, having a water day, and then learning about sinking and floating science.
Our Preschoolers at Simcoe were following along with their take on Bubble and Water week! They also got to make pipe cleaner bubble wands, painted with watercolour and used bingo dabbers, but they did a different craft as well. They made colour bubble art using bubble wrap and cups. To get moving, they had a bubble-themed scavenger hunt around the classroom!
For Summer Camp in the School Age room, our Big Buddies were expelling energy with ACTIVE MOVERS 🏃♀️ camp. They had a Canadian Ninja Warrior Obstacle Course, track and field day, basketball camp with the Windsor Express Basketball Players and Coach, Yoga and Stretching with the Cosmic Kids Yoga Stories. They then finished the week by Learning Something New! How Fun!
Next week they have a great week celebrating different holidays.
Stay Tuned for the adventures our buddies are taking next week!
